NAKED Nutrition Review: Pea Protein and Creatine From My Experience
Jack UtermoehlShare
If you are considering NAKED Pea Protein or NAKED Creatine because you want simple supplements without a long list of added ingredients, my experience with both has been very positive.
After one week of daily use, the biggest reason I would recommend them is also the simplest: each product contains one ingredient.
NAKED Pea is yellow pea protein. NAKED Creatine is creatine monohydrate. There are no added sweeteners, artificial flavors, or extra ingredients deciding what my shake needs to taste or feel like before I make it.
Beyond the ingredient lists, the Pea Protein has been unusually soft and relatively dustless, mixes into a creamy shake, and tastes good enough with plain water. The Creatine has mixed easily into the drinks and smoothies where I normally use creatine without adding a meaningful flavor of its own.
Would I buy either of them with my own money? Yes. When these containers are empty, I currently plan to replace them.
My NAKED Nutrition Review at a Glance
I do not use stars for this review. A five-star score compresses too many different qualities into a single judgment.
Texture can be silky or grainy. Flavor can be neutral or earthy. A drink can feel light or full-bodied. Those qualities tell you something about the actual experience, so I use descriptive spectrums instead.

What I Like Most About NAKED Pea and Creatine
The ingredient lists are the reason these products stand out most to me.
NAKED Pea contains yellow pea protein.
NAKED Creatine contains creatine monohydrate.
I like knowing exactly what I am adding to my body and to my food.
I can sweeten my own shake. I can add fruit, cacao, spices, nut butter, fiber, MCT powder, or whatever else fits what I am making that day.
I do not need those decisions made before the product reaches me.
I am also comfortable accepting small tradeoffs in convenience for a simpler ingredient list. If I need to shake a drink slightly longer or occasionally encounter a small clump, that is an easy trade for me.

Who I Think These Products Are For
My experience with NAKED is especially relevant to people who prefer to build their own drinks rather than start with something heavily flavored or sweetened.
If you want a protein powder that already tastes like a finished dessert, an unflavored single-ingredient powder requires more participation from you.
I prefer that.
I want the protein. Then I decide what else goes with it.
NAKED Pea makes sense to me for someone looking for a plant-based protein with a minimal ingredient list and enough versatility to use in shakes, smoothies, and other foods.
NAKED Creatine makes sense for someone who already has a drink or smoothie routine and wants creatine to integrate into it with minimal interference.
How I Tested NAKED Pea and NAKED Creatine
My conclusions so far come from approximately one week of regular use.
I used one serving of NAKED Pea each day. I tested it primarily in a shaker bottle using approximately 8 to 12 ounces of oat milk or water.
I used NAKED Creatine in a protein drink and in a smoothie. I have not tested the creatine by itself in plain water because that is not how I normally use creatine.
I think that distinction is important.
I wanted to review these products under the conditions in which I would actually continue using them, rather than create artificial tests solely for the article.
Why I Use Pea Protein and Creatine
Pea protein was already a normal part of my diet before this review.
It goes into most of my smoothies, I sometimes drink it on its own, and I regularly make a protein drink that includes pea protein, fiber, and powdered MCT.
Creatine normally goes into my smoothies and has now started making its way into some of those protein drinks as well.
My use case is centered on yoga, general health, and supporting a diet that does not include meat.
Creatine is produced naturally by the human body and is also obtained through foods such as meat and fish. Research has found lower muscle creatine stores among vegetarians compared with people who regularly consume meat, which makes supplementation particularly relevant to my own dietary choices.
I use pea protein for a similarly practical reason. I need meaningful sources of dietary protein, and plants are where I have personally chosen to get mine.
NAKED Pea Protein Review
NAKED Pea is an unflavored pea protein made from yellow split peas grown in the United States and Canada. The formula contains only yellow pea protein and provides 27 grams of protein per serving. NAKED states that it uses a mechanical water extraction process and that the product is NSF-certified for contents.
The 5-pound container contains approximately 76 servings.
The Powder Is Unusually Fluffy
The first physical characteristic I noticed was something I rarely spend much time thinking about with protein:
The powder is fluffy.
Many pea proteins are extremely dry and dusty. Opening the container, moving it, or dropping powder into a shaker can send a small cloud into the air.
NAKED Pea feels softer and less bone-dry.
The powder almost stacks on itself. When I scoop into it, cracks form across the surface instead of the powder immediately collapsing into fine dust.
It feels aerated while still having enough body to stay where it is.
I do not worry about a puff of protein powder jumping out of the container when I set the tub down.
This is probably the least dusty pea protein I have personally used.
NAKED Pea With Oat Milk
Oat milk is my preferred simple preparation.
I generally use approximately 8 to 12 ounces in a shaker bottle or blender.
The result is creamy and moderately full-bodied without becoming excessively thick.
The protein gives the drink some body while remaining smoother than I would expect from an unflavored, single-ingredient pea protein.
It also provides the kind of neutral starting point I want. I can decide what else belongs in the drink rather than trying to work around flavoring or sweetness that was already added.
NAKED Pea With Water
Water is where I expected the limitations of an unflavored pea protein to become obvious.
Instead, this became one of the strongest parts of my first week with NAKED Pea.
I mixed a serving with water, drank it, and enjoyed it enough that I immediately made another one.
That is unusual.
Pea protein naturally has some earthy character, and NAKED Pea still tastes like pea protein. I would place it slightly toward the neutral side rather than describe it as completely neutral.
There is enough flavor to know what you are drinking, while the finish does not hang around excessively.
Mixability
NAKED Pea mixes well with deliberate shaking.
I have encountered a few small clumps in my shaker bottle. They have not been significant enough to affect my enjoyment of the drink, and I suspect the relatively small size of my shaker contributes to them.
In a blender, the protein incorporates easily.
I also have not noticed meaningful separation or a change in texture during the few minutes it normally takes me to finish a shake.
NAKED Creatine Review
NAKED Creatine follows the same basic philosophy.
One ingredient: creatine monohydrate.
Each serving provides 5 grams of creatine. The 2.2-pound container contains 200 servings, and NAKED states that the contents are NSF-certified.
How It Works in My Drinks
I do not normally drink creatine by itself.
It goes into something else.
So far I have used NAKED Creatine in a protein drink and in a smoothie. That is also how I intend to continue using it.
In those preparations, it has been extremely easy to incorporate.
There is a slight physical presence to the powder, so I would describe the mouthfeel as somewhat textured rather than completely invisible.
I would not describe it as particularly gritty.
More importantly for how I use creatine, the flavor effectively disappears into whatever I am already drinking.
I want creatine to integrate into an existing drink rather than turn that drink into a "creatine drink."
NAKED Creatine has done that well.

Packaging and the Reality of a 5-Pound Container
Both containers are straightforward and functional.
The openings are large enough to make scooping easy. The lids come on and off without trouble and create a solid seal. The containers themselves feel sturdy.
I also weighed the products and found the weight accurate.
The primary practical consideration is size.
A 5-pound tub of protein takes up considerable room.
It can be difficult to fit into normal cabinet space, and leaving it on the counter occupies a noticeable amount of real estate.
That is part of buying protein in this quantity rather than something I consider a flaw, although it is worth knowing before the container arrives.
What I Would Change
After one week, I do not have a significant criticism of either formula.
The Pea Protein can produce a few small clumps when I use my smaller shaker bottle.
The 5-pound container is genuinely large.
Those are the primary tradeoffs I have encountered so far.
I also consider this an ongoing review rather than a finished long-term assessment.

Would I Buy NAKED Pea and NAKED Creatine Again?
Yes.
NAKED sent me these containers to review.
When they are empty, I plan to buy the replacements myself.
I like the Pea Protein. I like the Creatine.
More importantly, I like the approach behind them: start with the ingredient I actually want and leave the rest of the decisions to me.
For now, both products have earned a place in my diet.
