About Asivana Yoga

Founded by yogi and educator Jack Utermoehl, Asivana Yoga exists to bring people together through high‑quality yoga products, meaningful education and a supportive community. The Sanskrit word asīvana means “to bring together” which is a fitting name for a brand whose mission is to connect yogis with themselves and each other.

Our Mission & Philosophy

At Asivana Yoga, our mission is to empower people on their yoga journey by providing expert knowledge, comprehensive resources and high‑quality products. We believe yoga is an exercise but also it’s a practice of self‑discovery and union that inspires consciousness, holistic well‑being and personal growth. Derived from bhakti traditions, our company operates from the heart, aiming to uplift practitioners, teachers and community leaders so they can become forces of positive transformation in the world.

We invite you to explore our Yoga Hub, a growing library of articles, guides and tools designed to deepen your understanding of yoga beyond the mat. Whether you’re seeking to master mudras, explore mantra, learn Sanskrit or plan your next yoga festival, you’ll find resources to support your practice here.

Our Story

Asivana Yoga was born in 2022 out of Jack’s desire to provide reliable yoga gear and trusted guidance for fellow practitioners. Jack’s own yoga journey began during a period of deep depression. The healing power of a spontaneous vinyasa class awakened a passion that led him to practice daily, pursue teacher training and immerse himself in yoga philosophy and devotional traditions. Over time, he shared his love for yoga by opening Bhakti House Yoga Studio, traveling to teach at festivals, writing about yoga related topics, and presenting about mythology, philosophy and kriya yoga.

In founding Asivana Yoga, Jack envisioned a platform that would not only sell products but also share knowledge. What began as a venture to provide durable mats and accessories quickly evolved into a resource‑rich hub, helping thousands of yogis choose the right gear and hundreds of studios outfit their spaces. Today, Asivana continues to serve yogis around the world with products, education and heartfelt connection.

Our Core Values

Five guiding principles shape everything we do. These values reflect what matters most in our products, our teaching and our interactions with the yoga community:

Yoga (Unity)

We honor yoga as a practice of union—mind, body and spirit—connecting individuals to themselves and to each other.

Vira (Inner Heroism)

We cultivate inner strength, resilience and bravery, encouraging every yogi to embody their heroic qualities on and off the mat.

Kula (Community)

We thrive together, building an inclusive community that uplifts, supports and celebrates every member.

Seva (Service)

We serve our community with humility and generosity, giving back through education, charitable partnerships and responsible business practices.

Ahimsa (Sustainability)

We commit to non‑harming by choosing eco‑friendly materials and ethical manufacturing that respect the Earth and all beings.

Sustainable Products & Materials

Our commitment to ahimsa is reflected in every product we offer. The Flux cork yoga mat is made from FSC‑certified cork sourced from Portugal and sustainably harvested natural rubber in Southeast Asia. Cork is naturally non‑slip, hypoallergenic and anti‑microbial, providing dependable natural feeling grip in any style of yoga. Our EcoBlock cork yoga block offers the same antimicrobial and hypoallergenic qualities with smooth edges and a grippy texture for stable support.

Beyond cork, we carefully source durable, non‑toxic materials for all our props and accessories. Our network of trusted suppliers ensures that each item aligns with our environmental values while delivering the stability and comfort your practice deserves. Using natural fibers, biodegradable rubber and recyclable packaging, we strive to leave a lighter footprint and honor the principle of ahimsa.

We also create meaningful spiritual jewelry through our sister company, Bhav Spiritual Jewelry. These pieces are designed with pure metals and gemstones to enhance meditation and remind wearers of their connection to the divine.

Community & Connection

Connection is at the heart of everything we do. We curate an all‑encompassing yoga festivals list that brings together teachers, vendors and practitioners from around the world. Through workshops, festivals and online events, we cultivate a supportive network of yogis bound by shared experiences and a commitment to positive transformation.

As Jack says, Asivana means bringing people together for shared experiences, uplifting and motivating fellow yogis, and connecting with like‑minded people. We invite you to join our newsletter for inspiring stories, practice tips and community updates.
